Time matters: A Gift of Two Hours

Eleanor Roosevelt once said "The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no one. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present." It is said that everyone gets same amount of time which is 24 hrs. All of us use the same time for whatever we want to do in life. We fight with ourselves to find more time to do the things that we plan to do and in doing so sometimes we miss few things. We never get time more than 24 hours. One third of 24 hrs is spent by just doing nothing and that is sleeping :). The rest is spent in doing day to day activities to earn our bread and butter to survive in life. Time is constant, we cannot add more time to it nor can we carry forward it to the next day so we need to manage our activities and not the time, so that we can effectively use the 24 hrs which are available to us every day. One can imagine a moment an athlete winning Gold medal in Olympics by a margin of few milliseconds. He/she saved those milliseconds by planning and with lot of practice.
Time is money, you spend the time to buy the moments of life. The way sometimes we spend money on things which we may not require or we just buy them for show off similarly sometimes we spend time on unnecessary activities which do not give us happiness in life. So we need to spend the time wisely, effectively. Time is a treasure and we should know how and where to use it. If we save 2 hours every day then why not spend these two extra hours in doing something which will make oneself happy and refresh  brain and mind.

I have lot many things to do in my life, let it be personal, for family, social, for country, for world, for universe.... But I will start with myself and my family. I will go for guitar classes, complete my long pending certifications, read book on our culture, do meditation, join gym, help others whenever they need me, devote time for society in which I live and to return to it for whatever I get from it. I want to complete the pending tasks which I keep on postponing for lack of time. I want to participate in plantation activities to carry on the "Go Green" activity to save our future generation.

Sharing the time with someone special in your life feels great. I want to give all the happiness of life to those special people of my life. I want to enjoy time with my kids and give them all the knowledge that I have as well as the knowledge that I get from the society and the world so that they can live better life in this tough world. I want to teach my kids how to ride a bicycle, make things using origami, let them know about our great saints and leaders from history to make them feel proud and take there experience as our guidance, tell them how to make good friends, how to interact with friends and neighbors, tell them the difference between good and bad manners, how to face difficult situations, how to find and avoid dangerous things. I want to enjoy their little activities, their birthdays, their school events, their achievements. I want to be a child when I am with them. I want to enjoy each and every moment with them.

Time never waits for anyone, it keeps on going, and we need to make the most out of it.

Hope to see you again with my next post.
